Nourishing Ojas Bliss Balls
Bliss balls may be considered heavy on your digestion, so once your digestion is functioning well, they may be a sweet snack. If digestion is not optimum then soaking and peeling almonds will be helpful. Herbo-vit is a product by Ayurda that promotes immunity and vitality.
Makes 12-16 balls
Ingredients:
• 1 cup of (soaked and peeled almonds) or almond meal if time does not allow for first option
• 1-2 teaspoon of cardamom powder
• 1-2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
• 1 cup medjool dates (seeds removed)
• 1 cup of oats
• ¼ cup of maple syrup
• ¼ cup of coconut flour
• ½ cup of ghee
• 3-4 table spoons of herbo-vit (optional)
• ¼ cup of sesame seeds
Method:
- Toast the cinnamon and cardamon in a pan with a tablespoon of ghee – after 1 minute add oats and toast them till golden in colour (by toasting our grains we are making them lighter and easier to digest), add them to the blender
- Place all other ingredients minus the sesame seeds into the blender and combined together (time will depend on the blender you are using.
- The mixture should be soft and sticky enough to hold shape as you roll them into balls (if mixture is too dry add more ghee or maple syrup, if too wet add more almond meal or coconut flour)
- Roll them into balls, roll them in sesame seeds and place them in the fridge in a sealed container

NOTE: the amounts in the recipe are a guide (I tend to cook intuitively so don’t have specific quantities so please explore what works for you. My kids also enjoy these bliss balls.
VEGAN OPTION : just replace ghee with coconut oil
GLUTEN FREE OPTION: just replace oats with rice flakes
